lets hope that doesn't happen.
i haven't been able to fully catchup on the thread. busy day at work
Faramir. you have the ability to protect both Frodo and Sam for a single Day/Night cycle.
not the best claim, as its somewhat useless and won't buy you much time... but its what i plan on claiming later on if/when needed. i can come up with others... but tahst the best i can do on the spot.
if you want/need more details, let me know, and I can try to flesh it out more.

You can read all about it here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FaramirFaramir is the brother of Boromir (memeber of the fellowship), and son of Denethor of Gondor. In the Two Towers, he sort of "captures" frodo, sam, and gollum on their way to Mordor as they are entering his realm, as the 3 are watching a processcion of southerners on their way to join Sauron's army in mordor. He is tempted by the ring, but refuses it (he's stronger than boromir was, and was the more honorable brother, despite being the hated of the 2 brothers by Denethor, as he wasn't as physically strong or the outright leader that boromir was). During their "capture", which is effectively 24hrs, he befriends frodo/sam, spares gollums life, and sends them on their journey to Mordor instead of taking Frodo and the Ring to Minis Tirith. He later helps Gandalf/Aragorn and the crew defend Minis Tirith, and eventually its hinted that he befirends and eventually weds Eowyn (of Edoras). Although that last part is never explicitly stated in the books or the movie. without a doubt one of the more honorable charcters/heroes in the book. Whether or not you include in the claim that it extends to Gollum for the day/night cycle, it would make it slightly more believeable, as it fits more exactly with the story/movie, but would also indicate your ability protects an almost assured indy in the game. If you do claim, i would stick to the claim itself, and let others fill in the blanks around its tie in to the story. definiately don't come off as being a story expert, and that you had to look it up to see who he was, as you are no lotr buff (all true). again not the best D1 claim in the world, but a believeable character, believeable powers, and probably not a character in the game. also if the writeups go in chronological order, Faramir shouldn't be "outed" as not in the game for a while, as his first entry into the fray is more than 50% through the 2nd book. :two cents:

Gwaihir
A sentient Eagle who saved Gandalf twice, once from Saruman and again after Gandalf fights the Balrog. And "third time pays for all", Gandalf asked him and his brethren to save Frodo and Sam from Mount Doom after the ring was destroyed. Could use this as a "save Gandalf once" role as those types of roles seem to be in the game.
This from Wikipedia:
An eagle from the Misty Mountains that helped Gandalf before and during the War of the Ring; his name means Windlord in Sindarin,[23] and he is said to have been a descendant of Thorondor and the greatest and the swiftest of the Eagles of the North by the end of the Third Age.[1][18] When the Eagles heard about Gollum's escape from Mirkwood, they sent Gwaihir to bear the news to Isengard, as they had been told by Radagast; the eagle espied Gandalf imprisoned upon the top of the tower and carried him to Edoras.[1] Next time, Gwaihir was sent to seek for Gandalf by Galadriel; he found the wizard, who had recently defeated the Balrog, upon the summit of Celebdil and took him to Lothlórien.[24] Upon Gandalf's orders, Gwaihir watched the river Anduin and brought him news about the Company of the Ring.[24][25] The eagle participated in the Battle of the Morannon, and when Mount Doom erupted, he carried Gandalf to it, in order to save Frodo and Sam
This would be your role PM:
Gwaihir, eagle lord of the Misty Mountains. One time you are able to swoop in and carry Gandalf to safety. If Gandalf is attacked you automatically come into play but will be revealed in the write-up.

Meriadoc Brandybuck
One of the hobbits who accompanied Frodo. He is armed with a sword made by the Dunedain of Arnor and is able to kill the Witch-King with this. Here's what your PM would say:
Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry). You have a special sword that will protect Frodo from the Wraiths (Nazgul). If Frodo is attacked by them, you step in instead and save him. Unfortunately, you die in Frodo's place.
Here's the relevant portion from wikipedia:
In the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, while the Witch-king was preoccupied with Éowyn, Merry stabbed the Nazgûl in the sinew behind his knee. His sword was made by the Dunedain of Arnor, and was made for combat against the nazgul. It left the Witch-King vurnerable to ordinary weapons, allowed Eowyn to finish him. This fulfilled an old prophecy that the Witch-king would not be slain by Man (a Woman and Hobbit destroyed him).

I have this claim ready... Should I change it??
I am Faramir Captain of Gondor GGRP. You have the ability to protect Frodo, Samwise, & Gollum for a single Day/Night cycle.
I don’t get the whole Gollum thing (I thought he was a BG in the movie), but I will let you LOTR nerds figure it out.
So, good job WW masters! You have now succeeded in outing TWO GG’s (back to back) WITH THE ABILITY TO PROTECT FRODO (who I assume he is the main GGRP)!!
May as well just finish me off and spare me the pain of having to go through another entire game as a f’in dead man walking.
I figure they won't want to run the risk of killing off TWO gg's who could protect Frodo in a row.
What do you guys think?

I figure using the name Samwise (opposed to Sam) would sound more believable, considering that is how Angry spelled it in the write up.
Throwing in the whole Gollum thing may help cause even more confusion, and be enough to make them back off (for now).

Drop Gollum and Sam. You're only there to protect Frodo. While this isn't completely in line with the book/movie, it's more in line with how the role would play out in WW. In WW, it's the individual who is attacked, not a group. It would make no sense for you to sacrifice yourself to save Sam or Gollum.

I'm a fan of the gwaihir and merry fakes... both are solid.
other possible fake characters: elrond - angel/reviver galadriel - seer (although I expect this one is in the game, it fits perfectly with her mirror) theoden - ?? bombadil - ?? (this would be a stretch though)
